Impact reporting is a core pillar of Deedz’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and Canada-first economic development.
This policy outlines how Deedz:
Measures the outcomes of supported businesses and initiatives
Tracks economic and social impact within Canada
Communicates results responsibly to sponsors, partners, and the public
Protects the privacy and dignity of all participants
Impact reporting is not about publicity — it is about proof of purpose.
Scope of This Policy
This policy applies to:
All grant recipients approved through Deedz
Sponsors and partners receiving impact summaries
Deedz internal review and governance processes
Impact reporting requirements apply only to approved recipients, not applicants.
What Impact Means at Deedz
Deedz defines impact through a Canada-first lens, including but not limited to:
Economic Impact
Jobs created or retained in Canada
Wages paid to Canadian citizens and permanent residents
Business sustainability and growth
Local and regional economic contribution
Employment Impact
Maintenance of the 70% Canadian/PR employment commitment
Hiring of full-time, part-time, or contract Canadian workers
Workforce development and skills enhancement
Business & Community Impact
Expansion within Canadian provinces
Support of Canadian suppliers or service providers
Contribution to underserved or rural communities
Reporting Requirements for Recipients
Approved recipients are required to submit impact updates as part of their compliance obligations.
Standard Reporting
High-level written updates outlining progress
Confirmation of use of funds as approved
Employment status updates
Frequency
Reporting may be requested periodically or on a milestone basis
Deedz reserves the right to request updates at reasonable intervals
Surprise or ad-hoc reporting may be required where necessary
Reporting requirements are designed to be proportionate, not burdensome.
Verification & Validation
To maintain credibility, Deedz may verify reported impact through:
Supporting documents
Employment records (where appropriate)
Invoices or proof of expenditure
Virtual or in-person check-ins (where lawful and appropriate)
Failure to cooperate with reasonable verification requests may be treated as non-compliance.
Privacy & Confidentiality
Deedz prioritizes privacy in all impact reporting.
Individual business details are not published without consent
Public reporting is typically aggregated and anonymized
Sensitive business information is shared only on a need-to-know basis
All data is handled in accordance with Deedz’s Privacy Policy and PIPEDA
Participation in public storytelling or case studies is optional, never mandatory.
How Impact Is Shared
With Sponsors
Sponsors may receive:
High-level summaries of supported impact
Confirmation that funds were used as approved
Aggregated outcome data
Sponsors do not receive confidential business data unless explicitly authorized.
With the Public
Deedz may publish:
Annual or periodic impact summaries
Aggregated statistics (e.g., jobs created, regions supported)
Thematic insights aligned with Canada-first goals
These reports never disclose sensitive or identifying information without consent.
Use of Impact Data
Impact data is used solely to:
Demonstrate accountability
Improve Deedz programs and criteria
Inform sponsors and partners
Strengthen trust in the Deedz ecosystem
Deedz does not sell, trade, or monetize impact data.
Non-Compliance & Consequences
Failure to meet impact reporting obligations may result in:
Requests for clarification or correction
Temporary suspension from future funding rounds
Repayment requirements (where applicable)
Removal from the Deedz ecosystem
Actions are proportionate and taken in good faith.
