Deedz exists to support businesses, individuals, and initiatives that are committed to putting Canada first.
Before applying, please review the eligibility criteria below carefully. Meeting these criteria does not guarantee approval, but it ensures your application can be reviewed fairly.
Core Eligibility Requirements
To be considered, all applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
Canada-First Foundation
Business or initiative must be started and headquartered in Canada
Operations must primarily benefit the Canadian economy
Employment Commitment
A commitment to employing at least 70% Canadian citizens and/or Permanent Residents
Applies across full-time, part-time, and contract roles
Ratio must be maintained during active operations
Economic Contribution
Applicants must demonstrate how they will:
Create or support jobs in Canada
Generate sustainable revenue
Contribute to regional or national economic growth
Scalability Within Canada
Preference is given to businesses that plan to scale across Canadian provinces before expanding internationally
Timelines may vary depending on the business model
Co-Contribution Requirement
Deedz may fund up to 70% of approved costs
Applicants must be prepared to fund the remaining 30%
Quotes or invoices may be required for verification
Who Is Eligible
You may apply to Deedz if you fall under one of the following categories:
1. Startups
Early-stage businesses that:
Are newly formed or in the process of launching
Are incorporated or registering in Canada
Have a clear plan for growth, employment, and impact
2. Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
Existing Canadian businesses that:
Are legally registered and operating in Canada
Are seeking funding to grow, expand, or scale
Demonstrate measurable economic and employment impact
3. Individuals
Individuals who:
Intend to start a business or community initiative in Canada
Are seeking micro-grants for approved services (e.g., legal, marketing, setup, training)
Are willing to co-contribute 30% of the requested amount
4. Community & Impact Initiatives
Projects that:
Support Canadian communities
Create employment, skills, or social value
Align with Deedz’s Canada-first principles
Required Documentation
All applicants must submit:
Business plan or concept overview
Pitch deck (where applicable)
Financial projections or budget estimates
Proof of Canadian registration or intent
Proof of identity
Hiring and employment plan
Quotes or invoices (if funding specific services)
A short written statement (approx. 200 words) explaining:
Why the business exists
How it benefits Canada
Review & Verification
All applications are reviewed anonymously
Deedz reserves the right to verify information
Surprise compliance checks may be conducted
Approval is discretionary and final per cycle
Who Is Not Eligible
Applications will not be considered if they involve:
Activities that cause harm to individuals or communities
Gambling, adult entertainment, tobacco, vaping, cannabis, or alcohol
High-risk financial schemes or misleading investment models
Businesses operating primarily outside Canada
Applications that misrepresent facts or documentation
Reapplying
If your application is not approved:
You will be notified by email
You may reapply in a future funding round
Feedback may be limited to maintain fairness
Rejection does not mean your idea lacks merit — it may simply require refinement or better alignment.
