Deedz is not a charity, it’s a movement…

For many years now, Deedz has been dedicated to providing positive social interaction to those who are street involved, homeless, or temporarily staying in homeless shelters. While we often assist in meeting practical needs such as food, clothing, and housing, Deedz is primarily about conversation and friendship.

At the end of a long day it’s nice to have someone to talk to – about the Leafs game, childhood memories, places traveled or even just the weather. But often these simple topics lead to deep and intimate conversations about struggle, heartache and loneliness. You’d be surprised at what a stranger will share with someone who is willing to listen. At the end of the day we all want the same things – to be acknowledged, to be heard, to be cared about.

“The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved.”

—Mother Teresa
